Bodi's is a small town bakery with SO much to offer. And so much to gobble up. If you're ever in the Twin Lakes area, you must make a stop at Bodi's. I was spending a weekend in Twin Lakes to get away from Chicago and Bodi's Bake Shop was one of my favorite places. They have donuts, danishes, coffee, cookies, apple fritters and sandwiches... and even a seasonal $10.00 St. Patrick's Day Special for 1 lb of boiled corned beef, cabbage, carrots & potatoes served with Irish soda bread. I wish I could have stayed a little longer to feast on Bodi's Irish special. Your dollar will go a long way here. People from the community were streaming in on a Saturday morning. Earlier there was a 5K race and kids had their faces painted, waiting patiently in line to order cookies. Many people seem to order their items by the box and in large quantities, probably to set down on a dining table somewhere to share. I could tell Bodi's is a feel-good, community favorite. There is a huge selection of baked goods - racks of donuts, a glass case overflowing with cookies, danishes and other delectables. You'll feel like a little kid in a candy store. Everything is calling out your name to try it. I got an apple fritter, cake donut with chocolate frosting and a cup of coffee for around $4.00. You can't beat that! All this for LESS than what it costs to order a latte at Starbucks. I need to get out of the city more often. The staff were kind as well. When I ordered their flavored coffee of the day, the woman, with a wide smile, kindly reminded me"it's bottomless." They also have these AMAZING croutons to snack on. These are buttery, garlicky, divine and worst of all, addicting. They came in styrofoam cups on every table and our group of 5 girls devoured these like we tasted butter for the first time. I also got blueberry scone to-go for a friend and it was gigantic. To sum it up: Bodi's is awesome!

I am such a lover of Bodi's apple fritters! They do a terrific job on everything actually! We have gotten many cakes for occasions real and imagined - just to have cake ;-) - and have never been disappointed. Our favorite local baked goods by far!

$.95 cents per doughnut, and while they are good, this is steep for the middle of nowhere! I liked the croutons on the table and the donuts with the white whipped frosting are pretty good. Hubby says choc glazed was the best he's ever had?! Def feels like a time warp here, the town and the store, very local~ish small town feel, not in a bad way, but really....different....

Bodis is the best in twin lakes! Our family has a lakehouse there and we always go here for breakfast bagels pastries ext. we actually had our wedding at the lakehouse last year and bodi's did the cake it was huge delicious and very affordable and they also did some pies for us which were also delicious! Definitely check out bodi's!!

I ordered a cake for my wedding from this place. From the meeting to decide on a design, until I walked into the reception and saw the finished product, which was exactly what was designed, this place was one of the only things that didn't worry me about the wedding. The cake was beautiful and delicious. I think that since the first meeting, where we designed the cake with a flour covered baker, I just got a good vibe from this place. I don't live in the area, so I can't visit frequently, but I did sample the donuts both times I was there and they were delicious. Plus, as I stated, when you have a meeting to design a wedding cake and a person comes from the back with flour on their apron, you just know you're at a place with freshly made items. I hope I never have the need for another wedding cake, but if I do, I'll be heading bake here.

It's hit or miss. I've had some tasty treats (95 cents a donut) and some bad ones (too greasy, stale, hair). Why do I keep going? No other bakery in town (and on a good day they are better bakery than sentry). Also they have a fantastic chopped salad that can't be beat for $5! Hopefully if you give it a try, you'll get a good day! Oh and don't expect friendly service. Never get a smile or something other than a look of "I've got better things to do than help you". Gosh I wish there was another choice!

Homemade Doughnuts are the BOMB!!! I love this place. Very cute and old fashioned, I can tell its family run. Great tasting sweets and their Hot Chocolate melted my heart! I love it!

Are you kidding me "only OK"!! They are the very best donuts in the world. We have a summer home in Twin Lake and I think that Bodi's is better then any bakery in the Chicagoland area.

The doughnuts and the bagels are really just ok, I've had far better. But this bakery does have a nice mom/pop kind of feel to it, and the turkey sandwiches are pretty tastey. Also, it's the only place in town to grab breakfast at 5:30 in the morning.

Came highly recommended! She adjusted the wedding cake's frosting to our request- more almond flavoring! We designed the cake and she made it! The cake was moist and SOOOO GOOOOD!!!! We didn't have any left overs!! YUM!!!
